Blarcreen House is an elegant, granite-built Victorian mansion, which stands on the shores of Loch Etive in the historic Ardchattan Estate. There has been a dwelling on this site for over four hundred years. The present establishment was built circa 1886. The guest house decor is designed on classic and traditional lines, blending in naturally with the local beauty and peaceful setting of Blarcreen.

 

Blarcreen is the perfect base for anyone who enjoys the peace and tranquillity of the Scottish countryside. Oban and the surrounding area offer a wide range of activities from gentle strolls along the Loch shore to such sports as kayaking, mountain biking and gliding. Each of our well-appointed rooms boast an individual styling in both decor and furniture, with beautiful views across Loch Etive to the hills and mountains beyond. All have central heating, flat screen television with DVD and Sky Freeview TV, iPod dock, hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge with fresh milk and bottled spring water. There is free WiFi in all rooms.

 

Snow on Christmas Day A full cooked breakfast is served in the guest dining room. In addition, there is a guest sitting room with a log fire, television, DVD, with large selection of DVDs and small reading library, including a good selection of books about the area.

Tea and homemade cake is served on arrival, between 4pm and 6pm.

 

There are very good local restaurants within a 20 minute drive of Blarcreen and we would be happy to make a reservation for you for your evening meal. We would recommend that if you are planning to arrive at Blarcreen later in the evening that you should stop and have an evening meal before your arrival as most restaurants will stop serving meals at 9.00pm.

 

Evening meals are available at Blarcreen by prior arrangement, priced at £30 per person for a set menu of three courses and coffee. Meals are freshly cooked and we endeavour to use local produce whenever possible.

 

We are pleased to be able to offer a fine selection of wines and spirits.

 

We are happy to prepare packed lunches, if ordered by 8pm , priced at £8.

 

Secure car storage is available if you are going over to stay in the islands. This is free of charge if you stay with us for two nights or more.
