Overview
The history of this course is intrinsically linked to the history of golf in Brazil. The club started being constructed at the end of the 19th century by Scottish and English engineers who worked at São Paulo Railway. The course had to be moved until it was settled in Santo Amaro. It is the most central golf course in São Paulo.
The course has already hosted players such as Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead, Roberto de Vicenzo, Padraig Harrington and Mario Gonzalez. Not to mention authorities such as George Bush (father) and presidents of many different companies, as well as the Formula 1 drivers Nigel Mansel and Rubens Barrichello and, surprisingly, rock stars like Alice Cooper. It has been the venue for the European Tour, Campeonato de Golfe Amador do Brasil and Aberto do Brasil. It has recently had all of its greens redesigned. Access is restricted to members and their guests.
